It's Wednesday again, this one is going to be long.

Hello guys, how are we all doing. Its been another bus'ish week for me.

Wednesday afternoon lunch was good, but it wasn't cheap at Elliots in Prestwick. Usually I eat my dinner in about 5 minutes. When I go for lunch with Frank we spend 2 hours there. Wait time was ok but no menus were on the table. The mushroom soup I was was good temperature. About 7/10.

I then hadsome pasta which didn't look much at first. It actually was. I din't add chicken to it but was still good. 8/10. The staff asked if we wanted a sweet, we said no but had coffee. It when I saw the price and my mates confirming that was expensive which maybe put me off. I don't think I will pick to go back to Elliots.

I came back to Cumnock that night and my team lost the quiz. There was only 2 teams there.

Thursday I was down in club in morning and that went smoothly. I also watched some telly that afternoon. Went to the training as usual and spoke to all the usual people I speak to.

Friday I was busy in Cumnock in the morning and had fun at night as Blair has moved to TC's Bar after The Sun Inn changing over.

Saturday wasn't the usual Saturday. I watched England game of rugby world cup and they played very well. I am not an england supporter, but I had to admit that. I then headed to Ayr (during New Zealand game). I bought some clothes which seemed fine and a card for my dads 75th Birthday. My mum phoned me at 10.45 when I got my breakfast in Ayr (I only had a coffee when I got up that morning).

I then got 11am bus home to Auchinleck, only 1 problem I had card and present and wrapping paper but NO selotape as I discovered when I tried to wrap it. So I headed food shopping and got sellotape there as well. I got home about 1250, watched some football on Sky and SAT DOWN.

After 2pm I got a bath and got ready. Now most of the family had been invited to a birthday party. Now understand I didn't pick who went and who or not to tell about it. You will understand shortly why I typed that.

I headed down to Cumnock, corrected mistakes on televisions and headed to Lochside House Hotel. I took a number of photos on my phone, but sorry they aint going here. Its upto the person I photographed to request them on here!

The food was well presented. I had the scotch Broth which was quite good. 7/10 Now my family think I am turning slightly into a food critic. I couldn't possibly comment! I then had Haddock (which was ok) 7/10 with Frozen based chips, which wernt too warm (4/10) with salad. Overall it was 5/10. I can't fault the presentation though. I then had sticky Toffee Pudding. Great temperature, well presented 8.5/10. Overall it was quite good but I am picky when it comes to chips.

We went back to mums for a few hours and I headed down to TCs and lsitened to DJ Jon which was great as always.

Now Sunday, I got up for Scotland game, but someone had been informed about the party and they were not pleased, to put it politely, so between 8.30-9.30am my phone rang 4 times, people asked what I was doing and I said TRYING TO WATCH THE RUGBY. What i could see Scotland were still making mistakes and as we all know it did cost us in the end.

I then headed down to Micro Rugby at the club, to serve coffees and teas and cans of juice. There was a game planned in afternoon but that was cut short. I headed home and relaxed. Monday was a quite day for rugby (phew). I had most of my reports the Sunday night, which is when I posted them. I watched lots of telly and took quite a number of caps including

Tuesday was a bit busier. Got up watched WWE Raw and thought, usual, usual.

Then headed to CHIP appointment and that went fine. No hard questions. They are at Visions next Thursday 6th October.

Next got down and gave Stuart and family tape (hello). Did my usual messages next and headed home for midday. Then I started on World Cup Breakfast this weekend including poster and emails.

Headed back to Cumnock and went to Visions Gym. That was fun. Headed across to club and helped Bobby sort out drains. I have a poster to do to make people put nothing down those sinks. I DID NOT LIKE THAT IT.

Headed home and had dinner before heading back down for training. Lats night The Plamphs won the quiz after beating Sangria in tiebreaker. After that headed across to TCS and chilled. It had been a long day.

This morning woke up at 7.20am and have been busy as you can see at the top capping Wendy Hurrell.

I told you this would be a long blog, but I needed to do this one. At this point I would normally put some more music on, but the LaFontaines have no more clean videos I can use, so try this one.

Hello, quick one today

Right firstly, well done to Cumnock RFC 1st on winning Saturday and the under 15s proving they can run faster on Sunday.

So far its been the usual rugby week. Saturday was busy. Si and Angie came but I didn't get much chance to chat because I was busy with rugby stuff.

Alex Dunsmuir silver wedding was very nice, even if I had to drink lager because beer wasnt good in Dumfries Arms.

Sunday was more rugby, Monday was quick committee meeting, quite enjoyed getting my points across. I even did some website work when I got home.

Tuesday was the usual. It was also announced that james Bunten is away from The Sun Inn, Cumnock. It is a shame. he tried his best. It wont be the same.

Today I am going to Mauchline to do stuff quickly, then away to meet Frank in Ayr for lunch. He is deciding where we are going. Its the rugby club quiz tonight.

WWE Night of Champions wasnt any big shakes. We kinda knew what the results would be. Only trouble is someone who reads my blog is still to see it, so that is where I have to end.

The picture up the top is Victoria Hollins and Wendy Hurrell, which is why I remembered to have my pc on before 8am.

I also sent naz from sky news a video of the weather out there.

So you all have a good day out there.

and dont forget to keep listening to good music

http://projectbandcamp.wordpress.com

Hello guys, no blogs from me on ages and now I do two in one day.

John McBlain who is the best DJ I know and I listen to in TC's Cumnock is a Director of Project Bandcamp has set up a wordpress site and hopefully Alex Hamilton is helping him. Alex has a wordpress of his own (pretty please Alex). Unfortunately this is blogger and I haven't used wordpress.

So John asked me what I thought. I gave him it straight (thats all I am going to say) but I want to see if anybody who visits my page has thought about the wordpress site

I have left only 3 links on my favourite blogs and Project Bandcamp is one of them. I am sorry to those I did list, I will reinstate that soon. The other link gives me my most traffic so I aint removing that. So give them some feedback.

Thank you all.

Hello guys, its been quite a while since I did this, so while I have Ireland and USA on in background I thought I better do a blog and yes I will talk rugby.

A couple of weeks ago the rugby club got painted. Unfortunately I was there Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday most of the day, Thursday until 7.15pm (which was followed by leaving rugby and getting dinner). The Coach Stevie phoned me at 8pm asking me if I was coming back down. I said NO.

That Friday (2nd) I got up early to put gas on my meter downstairs. It came up faulty. Scottish Power line wasn't open until about 8am so I phoned after that and they said it would be four hours, I said well why do I come back at 12, then it would be 12-4 so I said I would take the morning. An engineer came at 2.05 and put in a new meter. Phoned up scottish Power to get new card and to put the money on from old card. That all went well and I got the card the next day. That was quick. I went down to the club after that and the guys basically finished the painting (somebody else had opened for them). I caught up on some telly that morning.

Now the week before the rugby lost to Jordanhill P and Jim Morrison got us a bus to go to Loch Lomond. He gave a great rousing speech at half time but we were already 4 tries down. it made for a better performance by far. We (tober) has got some of the older players playing with 1st XV and it is changing the way we are playing, I think for the good. Well we got back around 8pm and we all had fun that night in club and Cumnock.

Next day (Sunday) we had midi rugby so I was down at club 11.30am. I had only got up 10.30am so that was good timing. The S1/2 won at home, the minis won away as well, it was a good day. I got home around 6pm and because David Kerr wasn't at Loch lomond game I had a match report to write. You probably guess I am not a journalist. I hadnt even took notes during the game. I did the best report I could with the score and got a couple of people to check it. It was fairly fine. So then I just had to get the other reports.

Monday I had a mini midi meeting to quite late until I got out lift after 10pm for fire brigade back at Auchinleck Community Centre. I wonder where we will be voting next year in east ayrshire elections, because it wont be there.

Tuesday night was heavy rain so the boys did really well with their runs, Wednesday was heavy rain again and I got mud on my jacket and jeans soaked and washed them when I got home. Thursday was usual day. I got tracksuit bottoms for rugby and old jacket and it didn't even rain, typical. My boots are always at training though.

Friday was quite (my dayoff rugby). I watched NZ game. I really dont like the amount of adverts that ITV are using. I was up for Scotland vs Romania (bad idea). I got up around 8.30am, got milk, gas, electric and watched England game. Cumnock was playing at 3pm. We also had family fun night in club last night, it was good. I eventually got to use spotify for tunes after Stuart Hunter had finished his stuff. I finished with Dr Jon is Tc's and had a great supper last night.

So you can see why I haven't been blogging.

Henry's Bar and Restaurant, Largs - in Brisbane House Hotel

A number of weeks ago Tam Cowan did a review in Daily Record.

This article actually caught my interest (which doesn't always happen). I have been having lunches with a friend called Frank for a number of years now, mostly around Ayr and I had arranged the next lunch for Friday 12th August and we always take turns of where we go (and pay for) so i contacted Frank about going there. Frank went yes, even though its another 30 miles from Ayr. I arranged to meet Frank about midday and he would cover the rest of distance. We go there just after 1pm. You can see Cumbrae there there (but it was cloudy).

We got shown to a table by the friendly staff. We had a glass of coke each from a 200ml bottle. It was very nice with ice. We were brought the menus. It is £6.95 for 2 courses. We were told the soup was Lentil, so that suited me. The staff left us for a few minutes so we could decide. It was a nice varied menu. Just the right size of options you needed. The staff even asked us if we were just visiting Largs for the day (that doesn't happen normally where I go).

The Restaurant also looked very professional, including TV at end of bar as well with Sky News on. I decided on the Chicken, Ham and leek pie with mash and vegetables with the soup and Frank got Steak Pie and chicken fillets for starters. They took menus away, brought me a spoon and a few minutes later they brought out our starters. My soup had a small baguette with it and butter and was just perfect temperature. Now I had better say I do not like cold soup, but this was perfect temperature. Frank said the chicken could have been put in a pie for a filling and it would be fine, but it was good as a starter as well.

This took a few minutes as we talked in our normal style for us to eat the starters, almost no time passed and the plates were away and the main course was there. It was quite busy when we went in, but not too busy.

So the main courses came out. The mash almost looked nice new potatoes, but it wasn't. It was briliantly shaped and executed for great mash. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. I dont like raw veg and this was in perfect form and was great when I ate it. The pie looked like at the start as the normal puff pastry on top. It is not. It was ontop like puff pastry but the filling was inside with more pastry as the base. I couldn't bring my phone out to photograph it (that would be too much).

So We kept talking and I ate the veg and mash and started eating pie. It was amazing and before I knew if I was feeling quite full. I nearly finished the pie (and that was a struggle). It was THAT GOOD. After we finished it the staff asked if we wanted sweet menu. I said I couldn't but we got coffee each (which was the usual good temperature and service).

It's the best restaurant by far I have ever been to. The quality was great, the value is amazing. The staff are briliant. We also checked if it's suitable for parking and other facilities so Frank can go there again with others in his family. That got a tick as well. I also went to toilet (no I dont normally say that) but they were well designed, modern, clean. Briliant (Ive never said that before).

Now I said it was £6.95 for 2 courses. Including the juice and coffees I paid £20 exactly. Great value (and yes I left a tip). I dont like paying tips when I don't get good service. I didn't mind in the slightest paying a tip for here. The location for this blog is the postcode for it. I had a phone call and after that we headed back to Ayr.

I only had a small snack late last night, but was still quite full. It was that good.

Weddings and other stuff

So how are we all out there again. I know I haven't done this for a few days but I have been busy.

The picture above here on the left is Carol Kirkwood doing the weather but somebody didn't remove Manchester from the graphic for a number of seconds (I was waiting for Wendy Hurrell to come back on).

I can also report the weather report is right and it is raining outside this morning.

So I had better go back a few days. On Thursday I went to dentist at 11am for my teeth to get cleaned professionally. I then went with my 2 bags for the 11.45am bus to Glasgow. We got there at 1.15 as usual. I then got the Glenrothes bus at 1.30 and got there around 3.15pm. I got some wrapping paper to wrap David and Terri's wedding present and went to Leven around 4.10pm and got to sisters around 5pm. We didn't do much that night apart from David arriving late as he had said he would.

I didn't want a late night. I got up at 6.30am and enjoyed my coffee. While the rest of them went to hairdressers/work I just relaxed and got showered. I got changed at 1pm and we went to St Andrews. Alex found the right place and everyone got there nearly on time (Terri was stuck in traffic, but thats allowed).

The ceremony went well and then we went for afternoon tea. I met a lot of people there and had fun. Some photographs happened including me using my phone.

I told David and Terri about my last visit to the Carnoustie on 20th August (yes with rugby) and see them there. I had discovered I could leave Glenrothes at 7.05pm and be home in Auchinleck at 10.10pm that night. So we disapeared after 6.20ish and I got my connection. Everything went well on the journey home.

When I got home I watched Smackdown. It was quite well there recently, but its kinda going back to its normal mode.

Saturday morning. I woke up about 7am. I ironed my shirt, had a bath, shave (the usual) and headed to Cumnock nice and early. I got down to club around 10am. It was a busy day. I wont bore you with the story of all we did, but it was good, if not busy. I left there around 6pm, got my dinner and had another bath before having fun that night.

Sunday was fairly quiet apart from helping at bar in early evening. I made sure Monday I relaxed at home (which I did).

Yesterday I saw Stuart and did my usual Tuesday things.

I think that is everyone upto date.

The LaFontaines - Paper Chase

This is still one of my favourite bands who are a scottish rap band. I like the video as well. They are called The LaFontaines

Well, the trip to Sally's

Well after my last blog, nobody answered where I should go. We decided to go to Glasgow. After a quick trip to Hamleys for Richard, Sally to get stuff for Xander we got the stuff away and went to Captain America. It was 5/10. I cant say there was much wrong with it, but it wasn't great. Its only average. Someone else paid for it, but I wouldn't have went if I was paying for it myself. We then came back from Glasgow and got back around 7pm.

On Sunday I had a lie in, getting up around 10am. I went for a walk in the morning, just to chill with myself (remember I stay myself at home). I did just about chill out until my mum phoned me saying the birthday boy was up and everyone was getting ready, only problem was I was still chilling so I took my time to come back to sisters. I arrived after 1pm and the aforementioned nephew had went back to sleep, so there wasnt much happening.

One of the other problems I have there is "even google" wouldn't work outdoors. I wasnt pleased. As most of you know I use O2 and according to its Network coverage checker all the services should work (they dont).

Atleast I heard some good tunes from Kingdom FM on my walk.

So we had a good party after Xander got a chance to wake up. As usual I didn't go on the bouncy castle.

I got up after 730 this morning and got home about 1230. The water not working hasn't affected me as far as I can see. Tonight I have a meeting at Cumnock RFC for a mini midi committee meeting. Since I got home I have watched WWE Smackdown.

I hope you all have a good week.

Friday, 29 July 2011

Well hello

I am at Sally's the now.

I wont get to watch smackdown tonight. I wonder what the coo will say tonight and Michael Cole.

I wish east and west scotland stagecoach could join up its planning. You always just miss the bus to fife by 2 minutes. Most of the time you see the bus depart from the stance.

I left at 945 this morning and got to Leven at 2.29pm (2 minutes after local bus disapeared). Enjoyed an ok coffee at Buchanan Bus Station.

I was happy when barry snedden gave me a mention on kingdom fm.

So Sunday is my nephews birthday so still thinking what to do Saturday.

Have a good weekend.

Monday 25th July

Hello everyone.

How are we all getting on. Well Thursday was good, even when I tried to do a few things at the same time on Thursday night. Catriona came back from holiday and we all got set for Saturday. Friday was fairly quiet, just found the right gear for Saturday. Saturday my phone rang before 10am. After seeing there wasn't a lot of people volunteered for afternoon at bag pack, I said I would do afternoon. I got the 10.45am bus to Killie and headed up there. I think it was a good day for us, not sure. But a big thank you to anyone who saw the Cumnock Rugby Club pack your bags (when you let us). Nobody complained at me at least.

At 4pm we finished. I had seen someone buy something come through my till earlier and said I could get that for my brothers wedding in two weeks, so after I finished bagpacking I went and got it and bought it (well I was getting a lift home). But I aint saying what it is incase my brother reads this, which I think he does.

Then we came home, I saw news on Norway and the upward way the death toll was going and Amy Winehouse being dead. I wish I could say it surprised me, but it didn't.

Next I went down at 6pm to club for bbq and karaoke.

Bobby did the cooking and I sent it indoors. I started the karaoke with Bonkers and Andrew thought I was.

Andrew was a good singer himself.

Sorry for the sound quality.

Also Monty did some singing (like most of them)

@montyno3 at Cumnock RFC by thomasblah

Then after the karaoke we went and had fun up the middle of Cumnock. It wasn't bad.

Got up the next morning fairly ok and had a quiet day.

Now we are back to Monday and I hope we all have a good week. This morning I ordered and paid for Xander birthday party on Amazon and its getting delivered to Fife.

See you later.
