Well I am in Cumnock again!

Well the last blog was last Tuesday, when for 1 I did it on my phone. Well how did we get on. I went home, forgot to get my presicription and packed up more stuff. I went back to Cumnock at 4pm to collect it, so I was ok. At 630 the army which is Cumnock Rugby Club came. I think it was about 10 people helped. A big thank you to them all. It was 2 runs in the van and loads of cars behind us. At about 8pm everyone left and I unpacked bags. I have a lot of t-shirts. I tried to get sky to work, but it wouldn't and I didn't at that point have a freeview box, so found my dvd player and used it for a short time. I phoned mum and brother told them I was going to pint at 10pm and dont phone me. I slept like a log from just after midnight to 7am. When we were moving stuff someone said we couldn't move cooker from electrics, so left it there and consulted council. We could, so with help from rugby club again I got electrician to disconnect it and arrange for getting it across to Cumnock next day. My computer was still over in Auchinleck so I used it over there for a short time during the day. Thursday I woke up at 7am and decided I needed curtain rails so went to Kilmarnock on 740 bus. Having a power shower has its uses. I got back to Cumnock 1020 with a hoover as well. At 11am I was due down at club for jukebox/pool man. I got home at 2pm and booked a taxi for 230 for everything else at Cumnock (the van was coming that night). So I took more boxes over after having lunch. When Mark came it took 15 minutes even though I was tired at 6pm. It was straight back to club for training, which we were all busy. Friday morning was a bit mad in my house. I got sky engineer arrive at 9am (when he was due at midday-5pm, but I didn't mind). 930 cooker connected. the phone line went live overnight so, but homehub didn't come until 130pm but it was all set with everything that needed to be connected done. I still had to wait on someone to double check an alarm on Friday. They came at 6pm after me sitting in house all day. Friday Night Destination Anywhere were on Craighead and were good as normal.
Late Friday night I got told a funeral for George McSeveny was 10am Saturday morning at Auchinleck. This is the man who took one of the girl rugby players sponsor sheets and I couldn't say he definately won as I didn't have all the sheet (they did easily). So I just made it to it and relaxed for rest of the day. On Sunday I went to Highland Games, it was great when it wasn't raining. image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host This morning I have checked Summerslam results, handed in keys for Auchinleck, done shopping, put results in for club and now I can relax for a few hours. Tuesday I have committee meeting at 7pm, Wednesday night rugby club quiz, Thursday usual morning and training, Friday (nothing so far), Saturday Lanark and Sunday Registration Day, Monday rugby ready course. So thats you all upto date. See some of you around.

Moving home

Well for past couple of weeks you havent heard much from me.

Well thats because I have been busy.

About 3 weeks ago housing dept wanted a meeting with me at home.

Now I had one of those before and it usually means 1 thing. Moving!

Some of you may remember I was nearly dead in hospital just over 2 years ago and from that I got put on housing list at maximum points for my category.

The system changed and I kept waiting in Auchinleck and 18 steps to get to my landing. I wasnt sure if I had been forgot or nothing for me would come up.

So I had my meeting with housing. just patch that home. I can preoffer a house in central Cumnock. Would you like to accept subject to inspection. Yes!

So that afternoon I came down outside to look in windows and thats when I started packing. Housing will phone me when house is ready.

In the mean time me and Rodger fae rugby club a bet we made in June payout for Andy Murray at wimbledon and olympics which comes in very handy.

The council phoned last Wednesday. Friday 10.45am. So I come down.

I sign for it, get keys and carpet fitter. I get sizes and head to Killie to get carpets. The winnings r now spent on carpets.

Now firstly I talk to mates around rugby club can I get help moving, Mark, Tober, Rodger, Donald, Morton, Harry say yes when I knew I was going.

The now chuss the carpet fitter is fitting the carpets.

I have cooker, washing machine, fridge/freezer, chairs and couches, double bed, wardrobes still to shift to Cumnock. So anyone fae Rugby Club if you can help with the 18 steps they need to come down. See me and I will give you address to go to. Its for Tuesday night.

Beer will be included afterwards, the more the merrier.

My day at #olympicfootball at @hampdenpark

image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host image host Well as some of you may know I was going to Olympic Football on Thursday and so to hear of the madness of showing South Korean flag for North Korea does not make us look good. It has been said since it was London who supplied the video (it wasn't done by scottish officials), but it was still Glasgow it happenned in. For the record I saw no graphics like that in Hampden when listing the teams for the 2 games and as you can see I had a big screen quite near me. So my day, I left home in Auchinleck at 850 bus (even though it was a few minutes late). We got to Buchanan Bus Station 1025, I found out where the shuttle bus was (the other end of station) and walked down. We stopped at gates and got told by a very nice man just to wait to get in quee. I thought there would have been another way to get to quee, the other stairs around platform 14/15 for example. We got to back of quee quite quickly and only had to wait a few minutes while the steward entertained us. A real great man. There was #london2012 signage there. We finally got moved onto those stops and got on bus quickly. It was filling buses (free) and letting them go (I expect locog are paying for these buses). We left about 10.45 and took us about 30 minutes to get to drop off point. We walked along to park and passed the fast food vans (remember how much liquid you could take in, 100ml) so just overtook them. The got the security checks. Put my stuff in a clear plastic bag, got patted down by Strathclyde Police and then put stuff back in my pockets and headed into ground. It was about 11.25. There was lots of Stewards outside directing people to get to stadium as well. I got up to where I was sitting g5 and row v. I thought I was going to be quite high up, I wasnt, only about 20+ rows from front for my £20 ticket (which I bought). Before when I got to Hampden I went for a Hampden Pie, Pringles and juice and got that for £6.20. I expected that to be worse but there was no quees. Then we got towards our games. Honduras vs Morocco was a great game. end to end stuff at times I thought. There was 1 of the goalkeepers that had the bruce grobellars about them. It was a very entertaining game. the worst bit was when my phone rang after a goal and with all the noise I wasn't going to answer it. I phoned him back after the first game. You will see above I took a number of photos of that game. It was harder in 2nd game. I didn't go for food inbetween the games but the quees looked terrible. I had tweeted Sweenyness who was down other end of hampden and he did not like quees. We got to the Spain vs Japan game and I expected Spain to win, but there was just lots of passing, it was Japan who scored and then Spain got a man sent off and couldn't recover. I would also say japan didn't shove everyone forward when they got the lead, atleast 4/5 still sitting back when doing forward moves. I still thought Japan would score more from the chances they got, but didn't really see Spain doing it, but it was the other end of the pitch. So well done to Japan and that will be a good group, more interest than thought there would be. The game finished about 4.35 and we got back to buses at about 5pm, there was loads of them, but there was a number of problems. 1. Not enough stewards showing way back to buses. park & ride was right beside pitches, the rest of us 5 minute walk again and basically just people walking across road, not controlled like how we got there. It was controlled once you got to buses. We got a bus which left around 5.25. 2. The road there had rush hour traffic, not just the 37 thousand at Hampden leaving there after the football. That meant a lot of extra traffic over there. Also you get into a slightly quicker part and run into roadworks on way back to Glasgow city centre. That wont help people still to goto Hampden this year, but I am not sure commonwealth games are going there in 2 years. I got back to Buchanan Bus Station 6.20pm. If I had used buses I would have got back to auchinleck 9pm. I chose to head over to train station, get something to eat and get 7.12 to Auchinleck and get back at 8.08pm. Also later I heard from friend there was no parking for wheelchair users at ground, that is something that can be fixed for next games. I hardly saw any entertainment outside ground apart from steel drums at Toryglen so that should be left for these users. I am glad I went to it and enjoyed the football I was watching, there is just some tweaking that needs to be done. I hope you can all enjoy the olympics.

Saturday 21st July

Well after the Friday night and going to bed late, I had a lie in and went down to the rugby club. On Thursday we got a new jukebox and pool table and the players were down. I havent played pool in a while but somehow beat Jason Robb in my only game. It was good to see the boys down and enjoying the new things. So I went upto Cumnock next and eventually went into The Sun Inn and Choopacabra were playing I have took a couple of videos and added them to their facebook page but here they are:- After it was getting busy in there I went across to TC's until about midnight with John McBlains tunes, so it was a good night.
